Cinzienne

Cinzienne represents an odyssey in map-making. It’s a rabbit hole that I’ve dove into three separate times in the past, each instance feeling like I didn’t have the skills to finish it the way I wanted. After practice, practice, and more practice, I finally decided to give it one more go, and the results were exactly what I was hoping for.

The city rests at the confluence of two major rivers, the Indigo leading to the rich ore veins to the northeast, and the Raahe to fecund plains and Cinza’s other prosperous cities to the North. As such, its geographic situation demands fortification, and has spurred the growth of a strong and weathly noble class.

Each building was painstaking outlined using Photoshop’s path functionality, with all of the roof accents, farms, land features, water, and forests hand-drawn and shaded.
